NK Bride has long valued the importance of inclusivity, and supporting our stunning LGBTQ+ couples every day of the year. In honor of Pride Month we wanted to highlight a few of our favorite 2021 LGBTQ+ weddings! Each couple celebrated their love in their own elegant style at enchanting venues. These beautiful couples had no hesitations on being authentically themselves, and we hope that one day, everyone will celebrate love and pride like these amazing couples. Happy Pride!
Adrienne and Leilani’s 1920’s theme wedding brought Hollywood glamour to life. This classy California wedding combined the best of a modern wedding with the class and sophistication of vintage style. Her fur shawl is so stylish, and the amazing wedding dress sells the old Hollywood feelings. Choosing a vintage car was essential for creating the vibe, and the Gatsby styled guests looked ready to step right into history.
Who said an amazing wedding has to follow the rules? We say goodbye to tradition, and hello to this NYC park wedding officiated by a close friend and drag queen. During the pandemic Cameron and Antonio were unable to have their big wedding. Instead they celebrated with closest family and friends in the romantic atmosphere of the park, and don’t forget about the laughs. The couple looks to have had so much fun with their untraditional officiant, and their appears to be no shortage of smiles.
Dawn and Candy chose to get married in a garden surrounded by lots of nature, family, and friends. Candy’s non-traditionally colored rose gold gown from David’s Bridal beautifully complements Dawn’s burgundy and beige waistcoat and pants. The biggest stunner has to be Candy’s veil. Just look how it majestically billows in the wind! Their advice to other LGBTQ+ couples? “Don’t forget the reason you are here in the first place. Always let love lead the way.”
Ian and Michael celebrated their love with a romantic southern wedding. They kept it chic, and minimal with black and white. They used white in an unexpected way for this wedding, including asking all their guests to dress in white. This modern choice is so cool and unique and totally helps both grooms stand out in their matching black velvet suits. This wedding was so fresh, and perfectly combined southern charm and modern style.
Simple but regal, Jonathan and James had their wedding at the Palace of Fine Arts, followed by a relaxing cruise for their guests on the San Francisco Bay. Not only can these grooms pick a venue, they sure know how to dress too! The classic Nova Check Burberry ties add a timeless aspect, especially to the modern suit with leather stripes and lapels. The true love this couple shares radiates from their smiles and laughter. They wanted to incorporate humor into their wedding, and it certainly looks like they succeeded. We love a couple who’s not afraid to be goofy together!
A DIY wedding is always a fun and affordable option. Brides, Dana and Shelly, think so too! They celebrated amidst scenic ocean views in Australia with DIY floral arrangements and decorations. These brides were definitely riding in style with a classic VW Bus, donned in a flattering, lace-busted dress and sophisticated jumpsuit, respectively. Regarding planning, the brides advise couples to enjoy the process “and make sure you are both happy with the decision! Communication is key.”
These men got married at The Cloth Mill in North Carolina, giving their wedding a warehouse-chic vibe. The attire they’re sporting is just as chic! The rectangular lapel on the blue tuxedo designed by Adrian Park Custom really adds a unique flair. But don’t let the dapper looks fool you. These grooms look like they know how to have a great time dancing the night away! (Is that the Gangnam Style we see??) Instead of wedding favors for their guests, the couple contributed to the National Kidney Foundation. What a kind gesture!
Chloe and G decided to host their wedding at Twin Sisters Brewing where they work and met. (Awww!!) They accented the venue with lots of plants and flowers that matched the industrial look of the brewery. We love how the lace pattern in Chloe’s dress accentuates the flower decor and that G’s floral tie goes with Chloe’s bouquet. Discussing their preference for simple weddings, Chloe and G advise couples to “remember that [they’re] preparing for a marriage and not a wedding.” The couple high-fives at the end, as if congratulating each other on a job well done. We couldn’t agree more!
Here’s to all the queer couples who tied the knot in the last year. Your love is valid, your love is love, and your love is celebrated! Cheers!
